Stephen Welch's NAP of the Day (21st October)
Strong recent form, proven conditions and a return to a track he’s already run so well at make Ghost Story a confident choice as Tuesday’s NAP of the day.

GHOST STORY - 6/1
Tuesday’s NAP heads to Yarmouth where GHOST STORY looks poised to strike for John Butler after a return to form in recent weeks. The four-year-old bounced back to his best when winning impressively at Windsor in July on soft ground and confirmed that revival was no fluke when a luckless second here last month, denied only by traffic problems inside the final furlong.
That Yarmouth effort suggested his turn was near again as he travelled powerfully, met trouble at a crucial stage and still finished off his race strongly. Returning to this track and trip looks ideal, especially with conditions again likely to have a bit of cut, which clearly suits him. Neil Callan keeps the ride and with an unchanged mark of 68, the gelding finds himself in a winnable race for a yard that enjoys success when the autumn rain arrives.
This is a competitive handicap, with Twilight Moon bringing solid placed form and Saliko returning to turf after a couple of below-par AW runs, while Telecommunication is respected back at a track where he’s twice won this season. But Ghost Story stands out for both form and timing, he’s unexposed for his age, in excellent order and looks perfectly positioned to take advantage of a lenient mark before the handicapper catches up.
