Barry Hill Racing Tips

Barry Hill has four selections for a jam packed day of racing!

1.55 YORK

Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Mile Handicap

ARCHIVIST - 8/11 (NAP)

ARCHIVIST looked a horse going places when bolting up by over four lengths at Leicester earlier this month on just his second start for William Haggas. That performance came on good ground, which he clearly relished, and he now makes his handicap debut over what looks an ideal mile trip. With further improvement likely, he sets a strong standard and should be a major player.

3.00 YORK

Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Dash Handicap

DEMOCRAXY DILEMMA - 7/1

DEMOCRAXY DILEMMA is one of the fastest handicappers around and the sharp 5f at York should suit him perfectly in this small-field Class 2.

He’s yet to hit top form this season, but his run in the Epsom Dash showed signs of a revival, and he's now back on the same mark as when second in that race last year. A Listed winner at Beverley and tough to peg back when conditions suit, he looks primed to go well.

3.45 NEWCASTLE (AW)

Pertemps Network Handicap

NATIVE WARRIOR - 9/2

Now dropping back to 7f, NATIVE WARRIOR looks primed to strike for Wathnan Racing and Karl Burke, with William Buick in the saddle.

He was a solid second at Windsor last time over a mile, and had run with credit in the Lincoln on his seasonal return, finishing just over four lengths behind Godwinson, who franked the form with a big win here on Thursday.

Well entered for major summer handicaps at Ascot and Goodwood, Native Warrior can take this valuable prize on the way to bigger targets.

4.00 WINDSOR

Lodges At Windsor Racecourse Marina Handicap

THE FLYING SEAGULL - 5/1

The THE FLYING SEAGULL has shown solid form this season and looks ready to strike again. A promising juvenile winner at Chester, he’s been highly tried over 6f and ran well from wide draws at both the May Festival and more recently over this course and distance in a first-time visor.

Despite again being drawn widest, a smaller field should allow a better trip, and the visor stays on. With Cieren Fallon booked and racing off an unchanged mark of 79, he has leading claims for a second career win.
