Road To Munich
The new, expanded Champions League format means the road to this year’s final was a long one for both of these clubs. The first of eight league phase match days took place all the way back in September. PSG kicked off with a 1-0 win at home to Girona but their progression to the latter stages was well and truly in the balance following a return of just one point from their next four Champions League matches. The French side ended the league phase with three straight wins over Red Bull Salzburg (3-0), Manchester City (4-2) and VfB Stuttgart (4-1) to sneak a play-off place in 15th position.
The play-off saw PSG earn a dominant 10-0 aggregate win over compatriots Brest before defeating three English Premier League sides in successive rounds. Liverpool were the first to succumb to the Parisians, losing on penalties after their two-legged round of 16 tie ended 1-1. Next up, Aston Villa almost pulled off an unlikely comeback. Leading 3-1 from the first leg, PSG took a 2-0 lead in the quarter-final second leg at Villa Park. Three unanswered Aston Villa goals saw PSG endure a nervy last half an hour but they progressed 5-4 on aggregate. PSG defeated Arsenal 3-1 in a semi-final that proved to be arguably their most comfortable knockout stage win.
Inter Milan’s progression was far more straightforward as the Italian giants won six, drew one and lost only one of their eight matches to finish fourth on 19 points to bypass the play-offs. Inter Milan defeated Feyenoord home and away to earn a 4-1 round of 16 win before ending Bayern Munich’s hopes of a Champions League final appearance in their home stadium, winning 4-3 in the quarter-final. Inter’s semi-final against Barcelona proved to be an all-time classic with both legs ending 3-3 after 90 minutes. Davide Frattesi struck in extra-time to hand Inter Milan a 7-6 aggregate win.

Domestic Form
PSG head to Munich eyeing a treble having already wrapped up wins in both Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France. Luis Enrique is aiming to become the first manager to ever win the treble with two different clubs. PSG’s 3-0 Coupe de France final win over Reims last weekend was a fourth straight win for the club in all competitions.
Inter Milan won 2-0 away at Como last time out but despite the win, Simone Inzaghi’s side had to settle for second place in Serie A behind Napoli. The Italians head into Saturday’s final unbeaten in six matches in all competitions.
Paris Saint-Germain v Inter Milan: Head-to-Head
Surprisingly, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan have never met in a competitive fixture. The two European heavyweights have faced each other five times since 2014, all in friendly matches. PSG have won three of those five friendly matches compared to just one win for Inter Milan and one draw.
Champions League Record
Paris Saint-Germain are hoping to be crowned champions of Europe for the first time in their history. Their best finish to date came in 2020 when they were beaten finalists. If victorious on Saturday evening, PSG will become just the second French side after Marseille in 1993 to win the competition.
In contrast, Inter Milan are three-time winners of the Champions League, lifting the trophy in 1964, 1965 and 2010. The Nerazzurri are also three-time losing finalists having fallen just short in 1967, 1972 and 2023.
EveryTip.com Betting Tips
As a neutral, this game could prove to be an absolute classic. Both sides were amongst the three lowest-scoring sides to progress beyond the league stage but have come alive in the knockout stage. Champions League knockout matches involving PSG and Inter Milan have averaged 3.13 goals per game which makes over 2.5 match goals very backable at odds of 20/23.
Some of Europe’s most in-form forwards will take to the field on Saturday with plenty of betting opportunities in the match’s various goalscorer markets. Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez scored in the semi-final second leg as well as both legs of Inter’s quarter-final win over Bayern Munich. With nine goals in this season’s Champions League, Lautaro Martinez is great value at 9/4 to score at any time or 6/1 to score first.
On the opposing side, Ousmane Dembele is enjoying an equally impressive campaign for PSG. The France international is starting to realise the potential that prompted Barcelona to shell out a nine-figure transfer fee to prise him away from Borussia Dortmund. Dembele has eight goals in this season’s Champions League, including the opening goal of PSG’s semi-final win over Arsenal. Like Martinez, Dembele should be considered to score at any time (13/8) or to score first (9/2).
