Where To Watch Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United will be played at the Estadio de San Mamés in Bilbao on Wednesday 21st May. The Europa League final is set to kick off at 20:00 with live televised coverage available in the UK via TNT Sports 1, TNT Sports Ultimate and Discovery+. Live radio commentary will be broadcast on both TalkSPORT and Radio 5 Live.

Road To Bilbao

Both Spurs and Manchester United produced convincing semi-final wins and have been amongst the most impressive sides throughout this season’s Europa League. Spurs lost just once in the league phase of the competition and progressed in fourth position with 17 points in eight matches. Ange Postecloglu’s side lost 1-0 at AZ in the first leg of their round of 16 tie before progressing 3-2 on aggregate. Spurs would again do things the hard way in the quarter-final, defeating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 over two legs despite being held to a 1-1 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs won home and away in the last four to ease past surprise semi-finalists Bodo/Glimt 5-1 on aggregate.

Manchester United remain undefeated in the Europa League but have experienced a couple of bumps in the road en route to Wednesday’s final. The Red Devils drew their first three matches in the league phase before bouncing back to clinch third position with five successive wins. The round of 16 saw Manchester United earn a 5-2 aggregate win over Spanish side Real Sociedad before they shared one of the most incredible European ties in years when edging past Lyon in the quarter-finals. Drawing 2-2 from the first leg, Manchester United raced into a 2-0 half-time lead at Old Trafford before a second-half collapse saw Lyon force extra time. Lyon then turned the tie completely on its head, taking a 4-2 lead on the night and a 6-4 lead on aggregate with just ten minutes of extra-time to play. As elimination loomed, Manchester United hit back with goals from Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire to clinch a 7-6 aggregate win. The semi-final proved far more straightforward as Ruben Amorim’s side won home and away in a 7-1 aggregate win over Athletic Bilbao.

Domestic Form

In a Premier League campaign to forget, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have lost a combined 39 matches and occupy the two positions immediately above the relegation zone. Spurs are 17th with just 38 points in 37 matches whilst Manchester United are just one point better off with 39 points from their own 37 matches. Spurs have not won a Premier League match since April 6th whilst Manchester United’s winless run in the league stretches back to March 16th.

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United: Head-to-Head

Spurs boast a considerable advantage in recent meetings between these sides and head to Bilbao unbeaten in six matches against Manchester United. Ange Postecoglu’s Spurs completed a league double this season, winning 3-0 at Old Trafford in September before earning a 1-0 win in the home fixture in February. Sandwiched in between the two league fixtures was a 4-3 Spurs win in the fifth round of the League Cup at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

EveryTip.com Betting Tips

Spurs hopes of ending their long wait for a major trophy may go on a little longer after Ange Postecoglu’s side were rocked by a number of high profile injuries. The likes of James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall will all miss Wednesday’s Europa League final. Manchester United to win inside 90 minutes looks great value at 7/5.

The form of Bruno Fernandes has been a rare positive at Manchester United this season. The club captain has led from the front for the Red Devils and is the joint-top goalscorer in the Europa League having scored in every round of the competition so far. Bruno Fernandes is the standout pick in Wednesday’s various goalscorer markets and at 11/5, Bruno Fernandes to score at any time (90 minutes only) is our bet of the day.
