The FIFA Club World Cup reaches the quarter-final stage at the weekend and on Saturday we can look forward to a showdown of two of Europe’s biggest clubs. Reigning European champions PSG take on German giants Bayern Munich at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia and here at EveryTip.com we’ll provide a comprehensive match preview including the latest team news, match insights as well as exclusive football betting tips and odds.
Where To Watch PSG v Bayern Munich
PSG v Bayern Munich will kick off at 17:00 UK time on Saturday 5th July. The quarter-final clash will be staged at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia and will be broadcast live to football fans in the United Kingdom via Channel 5 and DAZN.
FIFA Club World Cup Form
Paris Saint-Germain arrive at the quarter-finals with plenty of momentum. Luis Enrique’s side finished top of Group B, securing 2-0 and 4-0 wins over Seattle Sounders and Atletico Madrid respectively, while a rotated XI lost narrowly to Botafogo. That minor setback didn’t derail them, however, as they swept aside Inter Miami 4-0 in the last 16.
Bayern Munich, meanwhile, made headlines with a stunning 10-0 win over Auckland City in their opening group game. A late strike helped them overcome Boca Juniors 2-1 and although they slipped to a 1-0 defeat to Benfica, having already secured qualification, Vincent Kompany’s men responded with a 4-2 win over Flamengo to book their place in this quarter-final. However, they’ve conceded five times in their last three outings, raising concerns about their defensive frailties..
PSG v Bayern Munich: Head-to-Head
Despite PSG’s recent rise, Bayern Munich boast a dominant head-to-head record in recent meetings, winning seven of the last eight.
The most recent clash came in the Champions League league phase in November 2024, where Bayern edged a tight contest 1-0 thanks to a header from centre-back Min-Jae Kim. That result followed a string of victories for the German champions, including a two-legged win in the 2022/23 Round of 16.
Team News
PSG
Luis Enrique’s European champions made light work of Inter Miami in the round of 16, allowing for player rotation and key squad members to be rested ahead of this quarter-final tie. Ousmane Dembele made his first appearance of the tournament after recovering from a thigh injury, coming off the bench against Inter Miami. He is now in contention to start. Desire Doue impressed in attack, forcing an own goal and both he and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia should retain their places in the PSG starting XI either side of Dembele.
Paris Saint-Germain Starting XI: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha, Fabián Ruiz; Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia
Bayern Munich
Bayern overcame Flamengo 4-2 in their last-16 tie, with Harry Kane scoring twice to take his tournament tally to three goals. He is set to be joined at the top end of the pitch by Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala on Saturday.
Kingsley Coman was forced off with a knock in the Flamengo match and is a doubt for Saturday, though manager Vincent Kompany expressed hope it’s not a serious issue. With Leroy Sane having left the club to join Galatasaray, Bayern’s wide options are thinner, though Serge Gnabry is expected to start.
Bayern Munich Starting XI: Neuer; Laimer, Upamecano, Tah, Stanisic; Kimmich, Goretzka; Olise, Musiala, Gnabry; Kane
