HELLO ISLA - 22/1
HELLO ISLA takes her chance in the 6:28 at Leicester and could be one to keep onside following a low-key but educational debut at Windsor earlier this month. Sent off at 18/1, she wasn’t knocked about and showed enough in finishing seventh of eleven to suggest there's more to come with that experience under her belt.
Trained by Richard Hannon, she’s reportedly come on for that initial outing and returns to the same 6f trip here on similarly fast ground. The Windsor race looked a deeper contest than this, with a strong favourite making all that day, and Hello Isla kept on steadily without ever threatening. There was certainly encouragement in how she travelled through the race before fading late.
Now partnered with Alec Voikhansky and drawn in stall 2, she should be sharper second time out and looks to have landed in a winnable maiden. The favourite Awaken will be tough to beat, but Hello Isla could well outrun her likely odds and shape with plenty of promise again. A forward showing wouldn’t surprise, and she’s worth keeping an eye on for today and the future.
