ADVERTORIAL - 15/2

Advertorial has been shaping better than the bare results suggest and looks primed to get back on track returned to the all-weather. Her sole career win came over this trip at Wolverhampton in April and she wasn’t disgraced on her most recent start at Ayr, where the first-time blinkers perhaps didn’t have the desired effect. Back on polytrack with Robert Havlin taking the ride, she has conditions to suit and a mark that leaves room for manoeuvre.

Spuddling sets the standard after a solid Bath effort, while consistent maiden Letsbeatsepsis deserves a change of luck if he stays the extra yardage. Jack Langley is another with place claims if repeating his best.

VerdictADVERTORIAL looks overpriced returning to her favoured all-weather surface and can get competitive off this mark. Spuddling is the obvious danger, with Letsbeatsepsis feared if he sees out the trip.

SISTERS IN THE SKY - 12/1

Sisters In The Sky has hinted at a return to form and looks an interesting each-way play with Rossa Ryan booked. A course-and-distance winner off a higher mark earlier in the summer, he hasn’t quite reproduced that level in recent runs, but the strong pace on offer here should bring his stamina into play. With conditions unlikely to faze him and a solid record when the ground eases, he looks well positioned to bounce back in this company.

Silky Robin arrives chasing a hat-trick and is respected if handling easier ground, while All Too Beautiful is still progressing after her Windsor breakthrough. Little Miss Magic has run consistently well at Bath and should again be in the mix.

Verdict: SISTERS IN THE SKY is back on a mark he can exploit and looks set to take advantage with conditions to suit. Silky Robin and All Too Beautiful are the main dangers.

INNS OF FEAR - 7/1

Inns Of Fear has shaped with promise in several maidens and makes plenty of appeal now switched into handicaps. He was beaten only a neck at Newcastle on stable debut in March and has since run with credit over this course and distance, despite finding himself in a steadily-run affair last time. A stronger pace here should play to his strengths and with Pat Cosgrave keeping the ride for George Boughey, improvement looks on the cards from his current mark.

Due West sets the standard after finishing runner-up in a competitive Epsom handicap, while Saxonia is respected having got his head in front at Pontefract last time. Lord Montague is another to note on handicap debut after his Brighton success.

Verdict: INNS OF FEAR looks ready to strike on handicap debut, with conditions and pace set-up in his favour. Due West is the main danger, while Saxonia is also firmly in the mix.

THORNABY PEARL - 4/1

Thornaby Pearl returned from wind surgery and a summer break with a narrow success over 5f here three weeks ago, showing plenty of grit to fend off challengers late on. That run suggested he retains plenty of ability and he now steps back up to 6f, a trip over which he has scored in the past. Adrian Nicholls’ gelding also handles cut in the ground well, which could prove a decisive factor given the forecast and his back-form suggests he remains very fairly treated despite a 4lbs rise.

Orbital Chime is a big danger after a luckless defeat at Musselburgh, while Giselles Izzy arrives in excellent form and has strong claims back at this track. Annie Edson Taylor is another who could be involved if taking to the blinkers.

Verdict: THORNABY PEARL can build on his recent course win and prove tough to beat back up to 6f. Orbital Chime rates the chief danger, with Giselles Izzy also respected.

IRIS DANCER - 2/1

Iris Dancer thrives at Hamilton and produced another gutsy performance when landing her ninth C&D victory just 12 days ago. Tristan Davidson’s mare travelled strongly before digging deep late on, showing that she remains as effective as ever despite being on her highest winning mark. Conditions are no issue for her as she handles cut well and she looks set to go close again with Andrew Mullen back in the plate.

Alpine Girl is respected after a cosy win at Redcar, though she would prefer faster ground, while Mrs Trump is chasing a hat-trick and brings confidence from recent Class 6 wins. Amayretto’s drop back in trip is a question mark, but she has the ability to be competitive if it all clicks.

Verdict: IRIS DANCER’s excellent C&D record makes her the one to beat. Alpine Girl is the biggest threat, while Mrs Trump is also a danger if continuing her fine run.
